Arizona Attorney magazine has listed Fuciarelli v. Good, et al., CV-14-01708-PHX-GMS (D. Ariz. Mar. 31, 2017), as one of its Significant Defense Verdicts of 2017. Struck Love attorney Jacob Lee served as trial counsel, and co-counsel Nick Acedo provided trial/appellate support. The case involved a landlord who alleged that police were negligent, used excessive force, and unlawfully searched his office during a commercial lockout in which the landlord refused to release personal property to a third party who was not on the lease. The plaintiff sought $25 million in past and future earnings, $196,000 in medical expenses, and other compensatory and punitive damages. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the officers on all claims.
